Karnataka School Timings Changed: The Karnataka Education Department has changed the school timings due to Ramadan. The authorities have modified the timings of Urdu and other minority schools. As per the revisions, the schools shall now operate from 8.00 am to 12.45 pm.
The Karnataka school revised timings will be applicable from the day Ramzan begins and will continue till April 10, 2024. Ramadan will start on either March 11 or 12, 2024. According to the official orders, schools will be running from 8 to 12.45 and a 15-minute break will be provided to the students (10 am to 10.15 am).
Also, the Muslim students and staff in government-aided and unaided schools can leave half an hour early in the evening during the Ramadan month (since they observe fast).
AP School Timings Changed for Ramadan Month
Similarly, Andhra Pradesh schools have also made changes to their Urdu medium school timings. Schools in AP shall be operational between 8.00 AM and 1.30 PM between March 12 and April 10, 2024. The order applies to Urdu medium primary, upper primary, high schools, parallel sections, and DIETs in Andhra Pradesh.
The objective of these changes is to make it easier for students to observe their religious beliefs while still adhering to their regular academic schedules. It also focuses on the school system’s responsibility to help students from different backgrounds and respect their right to profess their religion while attending school.
